Brian has coached basketball at both the high school and college levels and is currently the head coach at Archbishop Williams HS in Braintree and a group instructor and personal trainer at the Institute of Performance Fitness in North Reading.
In addition to one-on-one and group training, Brian will oversee bodyco’s sports performance and corporate fitness programs.
I’ve been an athlete and fitness enthusiast my whole life. I love being able to push my clients to reach their own short & long term goals. The great thing about fitness is that you can determine your work ethic and attitude toward attaining individual goals. As with anything, you get back what you put into it!
I graduated from Franklin Pierce College in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports & Leisure Management. I have been a fitness professional for over two years and am nationally certified through the American Council on Exercise.(ACE). In July, 2014, I became a certified golf fitness trainer through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI).
My clients range from athletes looking to prepare for an upcoming season to business professionals and at home mothers looking to incorporate a weekly fitness program in their already busy lives. The common theme is they are looking for an extra push to get the momentum going in the right direction. This creates consistency which is the first step to reaching those individual goals! Everyone has an intensity level – we will meet that and raise it over time!
Fitness has always been a part of my life. I have a passion for making clients achieve their goals. While training clients I assure that they are using the correct body form and always have fun while training. I always maintain a positive and energetic attitude while teaching group exercises. I have competed in many fitness activities, such as triathlons and half marathons.
My career at bodyco started as a client in 2009. I immediately fell in love with the concept and vision of bodyco and became a Certified Personal Trainer and quickly began teaching classes. I teach because I love it! I get great joy from leading a class through a workout. I always strive to provide a challenging workout while keeping it fresh and new every time.
I have a diverse fitness and nutrition background, stemming from my own personal life long love for fitness. My biggest joy is sharing my passion for fitness with my clients, while helping them achieve their own personal goals.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Salem State University in 2012. I hold certifications in Mad Dogg Spinning , Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA Group) Exercise Instructor, AFAA Personal Trainer, Zumba , National Acedemy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Nutritionist, and TRX.
Many past years of my life were spent as a competitive gymnast. This has helped me transfer my knowledge of mind body connection, strength training, speed, flexibility and overall wellness in combination to my professional education. I love helping others feel good about themselves, relieve mental and physical stress, as well as educate them with the knowledge to possess overall wellness.
Growing up, I was a competitive gymnast from a young age. Being active and involved in fitness was second nature to me. I pursued gymnastics in college as a member of the Umass Women’s Gymnastics Division 1 team and graduated with a BS in Exercise Science and Sports Management. I had the opportunity to put my skills to work right away in the fitness industry by working for one of Boston’s Best Neighborhood health clubs. During my time at Beacon Hill Athletic Clubs, I managed the clubs, did personal training and taught energetic group exercise classes for over 15 years. I have a passion for helping my clients achieve their goals by creating individualized exercise programs that are challenging, realistic and fun! I believe it is important to inspire people to push themselves out of their comfort zone and to try new workouts. I teach my clients to train efficiently, work hard and to be accountable. I customize every workout for each individual client, designing programs for your body type. Everyone has a different medical history and body composition which is important to look at when training your body. I have had three knee surgeries and multiple injuries throughout my athletic career. Understanding how to train your body differently after an injury for instance can be frustrating but necessary in order to get results. The same goes with pre/post pregnancy. Changing your workouts based on all these key factors as you proceed through life is important. I am always changing my own workout style to stay in tune with my body. How I train today is different than I trained 5 years ago. I train my clients with the same philosophy. Continuously educating myself on new exercise guidelines, training techniques and styles is essential for me. It keeps me up to date with new and exciting trends in the industry which helps me create fun and invigorating workouts!
